Shape and size

The base tea for making Matcha, these Tencha leaves are 100% grown in Uji, Kyoto. They are carefully prepared from the soft leaves of new spring shoots. This tea is known for its rich fragrance, sweet flavor and pleasant umami.

"Tencha" is the part of the tea leaf that is used as a base for Matcha. The stems and veins of the leaf are carefully removed, and the remaining leaf flecks are used to make Tencha. It has a rich, complex aroma and a pleasant mix of sweet and umami.

Enjoy the refined taste of high-quality, handpicked "Tencha". Brew it with just a little hot water to bring out a strong, rich flavor. We recommend brewing it with cold water to fully enjoy the mellow umami taste.
