Shape and size

100% produced in Uji, Kyoto, this tea is made from the leaf veins removed in the process of making Matcha. This unusual tea is rarely made available to the public. It is known for its delicate yet complex flavor.

The veins that are removed when making Tencha, (the base for matcha), are not wasted, but used to create a masterpiece that generally only tea farmers can enjoy. It has a complex aroma, rich flavor and savory tones. Compared to the refined flavor of handpicked "Tencha," this tea has a more subtle and complex flavor. It is rarely available to the public, but tea farmers have come to love it, considering it "maremon" (a delicacy). Please enjoy this unique flavor.
